Coloring is a fun way to practice a wide range of skills from fine motor skills to color recognition. As you color together you can talk about the image along with the different colors.
All of these autumn themed sheets have nature inspired designs inspired by the season.
You can use these sheets for children of all ages. Little ones in preschool and kindergarten along with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders. Even as a mom, I enjoy coloring using crayons and markers.
Fall Leaves
Fall foliage is one of the best parts about Fall. Living in New England, I get to experience the change from green to yellow, orange, and red.
Did you know that different species of trees turn different colors in the autumn? It's fun to explore and learn about leaves and colors with your child this time of year!
On the coloring sheet below, your child can color in the different oak leaves along with the rake. It would be fun to head outside and rake real leaves together after coloring in this page!
As your child colors in the printable below, they can talk about the different colors they use. It is fun to use shades of yellow, orange, red, and even brown.
It is fun to color in these pages using a variety of art supplies. For a low prep art activity, you can swap out the crayons and markers for watercolor paints!
Fall Harvest
Fall is a busy time of year as fruits and vegetables ripen in the gardens. It is fun to head to an orchard to pick fresh apples. Or visit a pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkins and gourds.
We like to grow a few varieties of pumpkins during the summer. It is so much fun to harvest them once the weather begins to turn.
You can color in the pumpkins on the sheet above using different shades of orange. Or get creative and use green, yellow, and even off white.
Color and Write
I love creating at least one of these types of pages for each coloring page set. Little ones can color the image along with the letters. Then young children can practice writing the word on the lines.
On the sheet above, your child can color in the different leaves along with writing the word Fall. Then on the printables below, they can color in the pumpkin and basket of apples along with practicing writing letters.
