Only a few supplies are needed to play this game with you kids. First, since this is a PDF downloadable file, you need a printer and printer paper.
The bingo set comes in full color, buy you can print it off in black and white if you do not have access to a color printer.
Cardstock or heavy weight paper are great alternatives to regular paper. When printing onto cardstock, bingo cards and calling cards will be more durable. It will allow you to use this game for multiple uses without having to reprint.
- Scissors
Before you play, cut out the individual calling cards using scissors or a paper cutter.
- Bingo Chips
When playing, clear plastic bingo chips or glass stones can be used as markers. Since this game is ocean themed, it would be fun to use small shells to mark off images instead!
- Laminator or Clear Plastic Sleeves (optional)
A great option is to laminate the set. I have this at home laminator and it works great. An alternative is to use clear plastic sleeves to protect the bingo cards.
How to Play
- Decide the winning bingo pattern.
- Pick a calling card at random then describe the organism on the card. You can use words to describe the image or say the name of the organism.
- Look over your bingo card and mark off the picture using a marker if you have it on your card.
- Keep selecting new calling cards until a player says BINGO!
There are a few different patterns players can make on their cards to get bingo. Straight in a line up or down, and even diagonal across the card.
A fun alternative is to play blackout where players have to mark off all of the images on their bingo card. Kids also love marking off an X or the perimeter around the card.
