    Free printable ant coloring pages are a great way to mix art and science. Celebrate this hard working insect with these printables!

    If you are studying ants with your kids, these sheets make a wonderful addition to an ant unit study. Kids of all ages enjoy coloring.

    Add in a few books, real life observations, and your kids will learn so much about these fascinating bugs! For book and activity ideas, make sure to check out the end of this post.

    These sheets make wonderful coloring pages for both adults and kids. To make your own ant coloring book, print off one of each design. You can even add additional insect printables.

    Always busy, ants within a colony work together to ensure the survival of the entire group.

    Fun Fact: Scientists estimate that an ant can carry 10-50 times their body weight according to Arizona State University.

    If you head outside to observe ants with your kids, you will find them carrying around all types of items.

    Ant eggs, food, and even dead insects can all be carried by these small bugs.

    Similar to a colony of bees, each ant has a specific job. Workers take care of the queen ant while others spend their time outside of the nest gathering food.

    Some ants protect the colony from pests, similarly how guard bees protect the beehive.

    Perfect for young learners who are practicing their letters, this free coloring page has room for your child to write the word ant. Capital and lowercase A can also be written on the lines.

    Art Supplies

    You and your kids can add backgrounds to the white spaces on these coloring pages. Green grass, dirt, pebbles, or any outdoor scene can be drawn.

    Watercolor paints are a fun way to color in these sheets along with fine point markers.

    Additional Activities

    Read a few good books about ants. Adults and children of all ages can learn from books written for children. Its amazing how much information is packed in nonfiction books for kids!
