Snowflake Designs
Up on the first coloring page are two large snowflakes with the word written below. It would be fun to color in each snowflake outline then add glitter using glitter glue to make them glisten!
On the next sheet you can color in six different snowflake designs. I love how each snowflake is different just like snowflakes in real life! It would be fun to color in the intricate designs using different colors including blue, silver, and purple.
Perfect for a letter S lesson plan, on the next sheet you can color S is Snowflake. A great coloring page for preschool, kindergarten, and elementary aged kids to use during the winter season.
I designed the next sheet with those quiet winter nights in mind. If you happen to live in a climate that receives snow then you will be familiar with the feeling of standing outside and hearing a hush that is associated with snow.
As your child colors in the small snowflakes they can practice writing the word snowflakes on the lines. It would be fun to color in the details using fine point markers.
Printable pages like this one are a great way for preschoolers, kindergartners, or even early elementary aged kids to practice letter recognition and writing.
If you are looking for a large snowflake for your kids to color in then they will enjoy this sheet! Geometric shapes including diamonds and circles are fun to identify and color.
It would be fun to print off several, decorate them, then hang them up.
Facts about Snowflakes
If you are learning about snow with your kids then you will know that a snowflake all starts with one speck of dust.
In order for a snowflake or any form of precipitation to form, dust or debris needs to be present in the air. These tiny particles are called condensation nuclei.
Although snow may appear to be white, it is actually translucent. Similar to water or ice, snowflakes reflect light.
If the light shines through one just right it might even create a rainbow. The ice crystals that make up individual snowflakes act as little prisms.
